GEORGETOWN GLOW & PUBLIC ART WALKING TOUR WITH DC BY FOOT

Explore Georgetown's historic streets and canal in a different light - a GLOW. The outdoor installations throughout the historic neighborhood will be the highlight of the tour, as the expert guide connects the light art experience with the history of this pre-revolutionary town. You'll learn about the history, industry, and stories of Georgetown's most interesting residents and learn about a few of the GLOW light installations.

WHERE
The 1.5-hour tour begins at Lock 3 on the C&O Canal and ends at Cady’s Alley.

ILLUMINATING HISTORIC GEORGETOWN: GLOW WALKING TOUR WITH DC DESIGN TOURS

A mention of modern Georgetown conjures up images of stately brick homes, tidy tree-lined streets and bustling shops. Now one of the most idyllic and elite neighborhoods in Washington DC, Georgetown's origins are much less picturesque. Described by Abigail Adams as "a dirty little hole," Georgetown began as a gritty colonial port, replete with ruffians, sailors, slave traders, brothels, and saloons. In this rags to riches tale, we’ll learn about Georgetown's historic transformation, share the secrets of DC's most exclusive neighborhood, and shine a light on the artists behind GLOW’s immersive installations.

WHERE
The 1.5-hour tour begins at Lock 4 of the C&O Canal near 1052 Thomas Jefferson Street and ends at Washington Harbour at the Follow the Light GLOW installation near 3000 K Street NW.

GEORGETOWN WATERFRONT GLOW WITH WASHINGTON WALKS

Join Washington Walks for a walking tour that features not only five Georgetown GLOW outdoor artworks, but also historic sites that embody how a waterfront port town founded in the 18th century has continued to create and recreate itself into the 21st.

WHERE
The 2-hour tour begins at the little park at 28th St and Pennsylvania Ave NW, next to the Sandlot Georgetown beer garden.
